New Triton® ATM PIN Pad Receives Interac® Certification

Triton Meets New Standards To Protect Cardholders Against ATM Fraud

Long Beach, MS, July 27, 2004 — Triton® announced today that it has received certification for its Encrypting PIN Pad (EPP) T1.0 under the Interac Association Device Certification Program. Devices certified to the Interac® Association Technical Specifications for ATMs with EPPs significantly enhance the security of ATMs

The EPP improves security by storing encryption keys and performing all data encryption within the secure boundaries of the EPP module itself. In addition to Interac requirements, Triton’s T1.0 EPPs also received certification meeting VISA® International standards recently mandated thereby ensuring that Triton ATMs are certified to process both Interac and VISA transactions. All Triton EPP modules also support Triple DES encryption, further enhancing the security of transmitted data.

“With security at the forefront of the off-premise ATM marketplace in Canada (as recently illustrated by ATMIA's ATM Security Conference in Vancouver) and with Interac cardholder's security in mind, Triton has taken a significant step ahead of the competition by certifying its’ EPP to the latest Interac and VISA security standards," said Doug Epp, general manager at Calypso, Triton’s processor in Canada.

“Tests conducted by DOMUS IT Security Lab of Canada confirmed that the Triton EPP meets Interac’s new security requirements for Shared Cash Dispensing,” said Greg Scorsone, director, DOMUS IT Security Lab, making Triton the first ATM manufacturer the lab has certified under Interac’s latest standards.

Triton currently provides distributors, financial institutions, and processors with a total ATM security solution by offering an ATM that complies with international 3DES and Interac MACing security requirements.

“At Triton we are continuously improving our products to provide our customers with the most secure ATMs in the market. We want to assure ISOs, merchants and financial institutions that their investment in Triton ATM hardware meets the highest standards and protects them for the long term,” said Triton President Brian Kett.
